Eric Beaman, 26, of South Lake Tahoe, faces charges of being in possession of stolen property, said South Lake Tahoe Police Department Lt. Brian Williams. A search warrant of a home on Armstrong Avenue led to the finding and arrest.

According to Sgt. Pat Brooks, at around 1 a.m. someone entered onto greens, fairways and tee boxes with a motor vehicle at the Glenbrook Golf Course. The driver of the vehicle raced around the course and caused substantial damage.

William Anderson, 30, and his fiancé Makayla Hoehn, 25, were arrested Monday and are accused of furnishing marijuana to South Tahoe High School and South Tahoe Middle School students, said South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Brian Williams. Both admitted to the crimes.
Arizona authorities make arrest in 2012 death of Stateline man
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 06/05/2013 - 6:04pmAn Arizona man was arrested Friday in connection with the discovery of a burned body found in the desert almost a year ago. Vrouyr Manoukian, 22, was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail on a charge of second-degree murder.
The burned body was found July 28, tied to the remains of a love seat and other furniture items in the area of 30205 N. Black Canyon Hwy. and Dixileta Street. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Matthew McMasters of Stateline.
Police investigate possible link between Placerville kidnapping, Calaveras slaying

"We have no confirmed nexus to the Calaveras County case," said Placerville police Capt. Mike Scott. But he said Placerville officers have been in communication with Calaveras County law enforcement officials following the arrest of 44-year-old Jason Wayrynen. Scott said a DNA sample also has been collected from Wayrynen.

Anthony Corbin is a confirmed member of the South Lake Tahoe Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. In mid-March Corbin was identified as the suspect who severely beat a 34-year-old South Lake Tahoe man.
Armed South Lake Tahoe man arrested after allegedly strangling mother
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 04/17/2013 - 11:34amA 21-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Wednesday and faces felony battery and resisting charges after allegedly strangling his mother until she was unconscious and then eluding police on a bicycle, authorities said.
Skylor Klisch was arrested after South Lake Tahoe police officers caught up with him during a chase in which the man was peddling a bicycle near Lake Tahoe Boulevard. He was found to be in possession of a 22-caliber hand gun with ammunition. The battery happened on Tahoe Island Drive at around 6:30 a.m.

Rite of Passage escapee with a warrant turns himself into Douglas authorities

Paul Cortez was arrested by Reno police and booked into Washoe County Jail where he will be transferred to South Lake Tahoe and booked into El Dorado County Jail. Police say he confessed to details about the robbery and how much money was taken.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office seeks help in finding missing teen runaway

On Feb. 23, Geolyn Balleza ran away from her parent’s home in Minden. She is believed to have run away and is somewhere between Douglas County and the Reno/Sparks area, according to Douglas County authorities.

Shortly after 4pm, on Monday, Feb. 18 South Lake Tahoe Police Officer Travis Cabral conducted a traffic stop in a residential area off of Pioneer Trail after seeing a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road.

On Jan. 2 and again Jan. 4 the man in these two photos entered the Target store and allegedly used fraudulent credit cards to obtain an undisclosed amount of merchandise, said Sgt. Pat Brooks in a Douglas County Sheriff's Office news release. The man is considered a "person of interest" in the case.

FBI joins in search for missing Petaluma woman at South Shore Lake Tahoe
Submitted by Editor on Thu, 01/03/2013 - 9:26amUPDATE 2:40PM: The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, along with several agencies including the FBI, are actively searching for 19-year-old Alyssa Byrne of Petaluma, Calif., who was at South Lake Tahoe attending a music festival and was last seen by friends on the gaming floor of the Horizon Casino in Stateline between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The sheriff’s office in conjunction with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, Eldorado County Sheriff’s Department, FBI, Douglas County Search and Rescue and air support from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office are working to ascertain Alyssa’s whereabouts.
No leads have been generated to the circumstances of Alyssa’s disappearance.
Alyssa is 5 foot 3inches tall, 125 pounds with black hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black snow boots, and black yoga-type pants with her hair pulled back. She was last seen by friends on the gaming floor of the Horizon Casino on 01-01-13 at approximately 1230-100 am.

Authorities prepare for Lake Tahoe New Year's Eve party at Stateline
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 12/26/2012 - 10:55amThe Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is readying itself for the upcoming New Years Eve celebration at Lake Tahoe beginning Monday, Dec. 31. Each year upwards of 60,000 celebrants ring in the New Year in the casino core area of Stateline, Nev.
Due to the ordinarily high volume of celebrants within the Stateline casino core area during the event, U.S. Highway 50 may be closed to vehicle traffic in the evening if necessary for public safety. If that should occur, vehicle traffic will be diverted around the Stateline casino core area using upper and lower Lake Parkway Drive.

Douglas County authorities seek witness to Stateline assault

The two suspects were seen on video surveillance assaulting and robbing the victim outside the casino. The men, described as caucasian or light-skinned Hispanics ages 18 to 25, jumped and battered the victim, punching and kicking him repeatedly after he fell to the ground.
Former El Dorado Hills man arraigned for mail fraud, money laundering charges

Dustin James Woodruff, born July 29, 1985, is suspected of shooting and beating Bryan Santana, 35, of Placerville on July 2, 2012, said El Dorado County Lt. Tim Becker in a news release.

The first burglary occurred at the Verizon Wireless Outlet Store on Waterloo Lane sometime around 5 a.m. Entry was made by the suspect smashing the glass of the exterior window of the store. NHP reports numerous crashes, arrests during Street Vibration events
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 09/24/2012 - 8:14amThe Nevada Highway Patrol reports investigating 65 crashes associated with the 2012 Street Vibration motorcycle rally which had riders attending events between Reno, Carson City, Virginia City and Lake Tahoe.
There were no fatalities associated with the annual motorcycle rally, according to NHP. Reno police however, were investigating a Sunday morning fatal crash on Plumb Lane. It is unknown if that was related to the motorcycle rally.

A judge gave Gino DiMatteo clearance Wednesday to post $100,000 after proof was presented the money will not come from illegal activities.
Prosecutors were also supposed to publicly present basic evidence for the first time Wednesday on the charges against DiMatteo, but the defense team asked that portion of the hearing be pushed back so they have more time to prepare an argument.

During the investigation officers were advised that cash and approximately $3000 worth of spray paint and markers had been stolen.
On Sept. 8, victims of vandalism began calling the Police Department to report that buildings, signs and vehicles had been tagged with graffiti.
