Though taken far too soon, Sloan managed to live 10 lives in the span of his 47 years, punctuated by adventure, mischief, and quality time with his family and friends.

Their 31t annual Elegant Evening was slated to be held at Harrah's Tahoe on April 18 with a sit-down dinner, live music, and dancing, raffle, and auction. The venue closed and restrictions on meeting in groups of over 10 people were created, so what do you do with an event that brings together 500 community members?
Move it online, of course.

Now, the popular caterer is operating out of the Tahoe Seasons Resort in South Lake Tahoe with an expanded menu.
Mullen has been providing room service at the resort along with box lunches and a robust menu for six months, and now, after a busy summer, he is now focusing on specialty nights at the Fireside Bar located in the newly remodeled lobby along with a regular menu.

All profits made during the day go back to the employees. While staff can do whatever they want with the money they are encouraged to reach out and help someone less fortunate.
"Let the ripples begin," said Ted Kennedy via Facebook as he encouraged people to support the businesses participating in the special day. He is a partner at the restaurants and gym taking part in "Pay It Forward Day."

For 27 plus years, Fox & Hound has served locals and visitors with great food and a great view of the Carson Valley. They are located near the Ridge Tahoe, Nevada-side ski lifts, Tahoe Rim Trail.

Sponsoring the meal for the evening was Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, whose $300 donation helped cover the costs of the meal, and who provided five Hard Rock team members to participate in their Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsorship.
Whittell HIgh School and Zephyr Cove Elementary get new principal

During Tuesday's school board meeting, Lear's hiring appeared on their consent agenda. It was approved, making him the principal of both Zephyr Cove Elementary School and George Whittell High School in Zephyr Cove.
Large crowds turn out for South Lake Tahoe 4th of July Parade

Not only were record-breaking crowds watching the fifth year of the parade there was also the largest number of entries in the parade itself with 300 walkers, 80 entries including the City of South Lake Tahoe's 20-foot eagle balloon.

Along the iconic shores of the lake are hidden gems along with popular spots, all providing people a chance to experience the beach and shoreline activities.
The website offers information about how to get to each beach, where to park, hours of operation, what amenities and services are offered, if any, along with other helpful information beachgoers might be interested in.
South Lake Tahoe restaurants give local law enforcement free meals all week

This isn't the first time Azul Latin Kitchen, California Burger Co., Social House Deli and Ten Crows BBQ have honored those who are tasked with the responsibility of protecting the community. They have had first responder days, and most recently, days to say "thank you" to snow removal crews.

It was a celebration of the volunteers that make their Monday Night meals, Second Serving meals and Bread & Broth 4 Kids so successful in feeding those in need, not only of food but for camaraderie and community.
Keep Tahoe Blue Earth Day volunteers gather 750 pounds of trash and 6000 cigarette butts

They removed 750 pounds of trash which equals to 1,047 gallons of littler, as well as over 6,000 cigarette butts in just three hours.
As the warmer weather continues to melt snow, trash is being exposed. Not only is this an unsightly mess it can also be a hazard to wildlife and the lake's clarity.

August 25, 2018 - 2:00pm Buffalo Bill’s Wild West returns to Dangberg Historic Park for a third year on Saturday, August 25 with festivities beginning at 2:00 pm. This is the park’s final special event of the 2018 Dangberg Summer Festival, focused on raising funds to support the operation and future of the park.

July 29, 2018 - 1:00pm PORCH STORIES is a fundraiser for the brand new SLT-based Black Ice Theatre Co. that combines the best aspects of Tahoe life - art, outdoors, and beer! There will be live music from Miss Molly Mae, food, a keg and a staged reading of the award-winning play "Everybody Here Says Hello" by Bay Area playwright Stuart Bousel. Bring your friends - and maybe a lawn chair or blanket - and grab a seat at the most exciting BBQ you'll be invited to this summer.

Three fire departments respond to South Lake Tahoe apartment fire

At 4:00 p.m. on July 25, 2018, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue (SLTFR) was called out to the Rockwater Apartments in the 700 block of Emerald Bay Road. A fire had erupted on the deck of one of the apartments, apparently at a propane tank.
Tahoe Beach Bash and Homebrew for Homeless this weekend

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - For the past three years, the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless has held their Homebrew for the Homeless in the Carson Valley. This year they are moving the event to South Lake Tahoe and combining it with a family-friendly Tahoe Beach Bash on Saturday, July 28 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Tahoe Beach Retreat.
A Musical Jamboree at the Dangberg Home Ranch

July 28, 2018 - 4:00pm Music, artisans and food come together at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday, July 28 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in a “Musical Jamboree”.
One definition of a jamboree is “A large celebration or party”. The Musical Jamboree at the Dangberg Home Ranch is designed to be just that. The musical talent of the day comes from four different genres.
