Weekend full of holiday events in South Lake Tahoe

'Tis the season to be merry and ready to have fun in South Lake Tahoe!

Here is a list of some of things one can enjoy this weekend:

Five new rules of healthy eating for kids

The conversations and attitudes we have with children about food can be linked to their eating habits. Use these new sayings developed by childhood obesity researchers to help guide children in a healthier direction during the holidays and beyond:

Old: Clean your plate.
New: Eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re full.

Kudos: Mt. Tallac High students thank volunteers

Dear John, Steve, Mo and Sombreros,

Thank you so much for all you did for us on the day we hiked Mt. Tallac. We enjoyed your company and couldn't have done it without you guys as our chaperones, or your encouragement.

The healthy, thoughtfully put together snack bags were so good, even the chipmunks were eyeballing them. They gave us the fuel to climb up the mountain and the taco truck gave us the motivation to do it. The tacos were delicious and so were delicious and so were the brownies!
