The inaugural Rock Tahoe Half Marathon will bring approximately 5,000 people
including runners, friends, and family to South Lake Tahoe this weekend as they Run, Rock, and Recover in this one of a kind event.

On Saturday, June 20, 2,000 runners will take off along the 13.1-mile course from Spooner Summit and wind their way down Highway 50 along the East Shore of Lake Tahoe to the finish line at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. The course will also take runners off the highway along the newly completed forest bike path from Round Hill Pines to Kahle Drive.

Pioneers in the progressive bluegrass scene, Greensky Bluegrass headlines the inaugural Lake Tahoe Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, July 11 as part of the BaseJam Summer 2015 Outdoor Concert Series at the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe outdoor arena.

The 3rd Annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel Outdoor Arena on Saturday, June 27. The concert is open to all ages and will feature Iration, Matisyahu, Don Carlos, The Green, The Expendables, Fortunate Youth, Vokab Kompany, Squarefield Massiv and more.

Advanced general admission tickets for the reggae festival are $45, VIP tickets are $90; and kids 12 and under are only $10, and kids under 6 are FREE. All tickets can be purchased on line.

Oakland-based vocalist/songwriter Thadeus Gonzalez starts a West Coast tour in support of his debut album, UTOPIAN SOCIETY. The first part of the tour includes hometown Oakland, Hollywood, Santa Cruz, South Lake Tahoe, and Medford.

The "Jazz & Beyond: Carson City Music Festival" is offering free concerts in the Legislative Plaza between the State Capitol and the Legislature Building in Carson City on three Sundays: Aug. 3, Aug. 10, and Aug. 17, 2014. "Jazz & Beyond" is a yearly festival put on by the Mile High Jazz Band Assoc. and its sponsors. People can enjoy these family friendly "Jazz Picnics in Park" concerts in a pleasant atmosphere with shade trees and a bit of Nevada history.

The "Jazz & Beyond: Carson City Music Festival," in collaboration with Carson City, is proud to present five of several bands at the Nevada Sesquicentennial Fair in Fuji Park on Saturday, August 2. "Jazz & Beyond" runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 17 and features over 50 events, mainly in the downtown Carson City area.

The five "Jazz & Beyond" bands at the Fair on August 2 are Sons of Slide Mountain, RVGS Tantalus, Lynne Colvig Latin Jazz, the Reno Jazz Orchestra with singer Jackie Landrum, and the St. Christopher Project, featuring the music of Tom Waits.

Considered one of the best of a new generation of classical guitarists, French phenomenon Thibault Cauvin will perform at Hope Lutheran Church of the Sierra in South Lake Tahoe at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28.

The 24-year-old Parisian is known for his many virtuosic styles. His appearance at South Lake Tahoe is part of a year-long worldwide tour that has taken him to New York where he played Carnegie Hall, Hong Kong, San Paolo and Istanbul, London, Melbourne, Singapore and Tel-Aviv.

Dave Jenkins returns to Carson City for his second performance at A Concert Under the Stars, a fundraiser for The Greenhouse Project, July 11 with his band, Pablo Cruise.
Jenkins performed four years ago for the inaugural event, which takes place at Café at Adele’s, but his love of music began at a tender age.
