TahoeChamber offers Microsoft Office Classes

The next two Tech Tuesday courses will focus on tips & tricks for using Microsoft Office suites. These workshops are suitable for all levels of computer skills, particularly businesses and individuals already using Microsoft products who would like to learn to use them more effectively.

In November, Sanne Steele, The Software Consultant and Microsoft Certified partner will be taking attendees on an interactive tutorial of Word, Excel, and Outlook. December’s course will be more graphically oriented, diving into PowerPoint and Publisher.

The 11th Annual Treat Street will be held on Halloween night at South Lake Tahoe's Pine Cone Acre Motel. This year's event is sponsored by the Tahoe Area Coordinating Council for the Disabled (TACCD) and the Tahoe Sierra Kiwanis Aktion Club.

All trick or treaters are invited to this free evening of fun and games from 5 to 8 pm. There will be a haunted house, bounce house, mini golf, pie eating contest and other special events. There will also be free hot chocolate, candy and s'mores. There will also be hotdogs for sale for $1.

TahoeChamber Hosts Fall Colors Business After Hours Mixer

Success at 4th Annual Sample the Sierra

Despite smoky skies, South Lake Tahoe was still a hot spot this Labor Day Weekend. The 4th Annual Sample the Sierra festival brought in masses of people to taste the unique flavors of the Sierra Nevada. The kickoff Winemakers Dinner at Bumgarner Winery spoiled attendees with a five course meal prepared in the wood fired oven with each course appropriately paired with one of Bumgarner’s fine wines. Saturday’s Sip & Shop at Après Wine Company drew more than 20 people to taste C.G. Di Arie wines and gourmet cheeses.

Announcing the Leadership Lake Tahoe 'Class of 2014'

Leadership Lake Tahoe is an intensive 10-month experience in which participants meet once each month for a full class day.

Happy Hour Ca$h Mob Generates Additional Revenue for Members

TahoeChamber’s “Ca$h Mob” series have been successful in their mission to support local businesses and keep money on the hill. Yesterday’s Happy Hour Mob was no exception.

More than 15 “mobbers” showed up for food and drink specials including a delicious smoked rib sampler platter at the Fox & Hound on Tramway Drive off Kingsbury Grade.

TahoeChamber would like to thank the Fox & Hound for hosting the mob, as well as the attendees at this event that that was created to help fulfill the chamber’s goal of creating a strong local economy.

Fabulous Lake Tahoe takes on Tahoe Business Exposed 2013

Jack Durst of Fabulous Lake Tahoe takes viewers on a tour of Friday's 2013 South Shore Tahoe Exposed. TahoeChamber puts on this annual Expo with this year's among the biggest and wildest yet.

Says Durst: I've never been photobombed so many times in one video in my life. There were more than 96 businesses presenting; plus live entertainment by the Heavenly Angels and Montbleu Boogie Nights dancers, Dreu and Adra from "Wake Up Tahoe" an actual bomb disposal robot, and much more.

In October 2012, all sectors of the Lake Tahoe South Shore community came together, shared knowledge and discussed a vision for economic revitalization. During that forum a collective voice was discovered on many issues.

Cash Mob takes on Overland Meat and Seafood Co.

At twelve o’clock on Monday afternoon, 25 community members lined up to “Join the Mob” at Overland Meat & Seafood Co. Owner, Brian Cohen agreed to play host for first retail Ca$H Mob in South Lake Tahoe. Brain offered up all five of his weekday specials for the event and was able to bring in an additional $500 in revenue from mobbers.

Chamber kicks off new Tech Tuesday Workshop series

South Lake Tahoe City Council Makes Board Assignments for 2013

The South Lake Tahoe City Council made appointments to various Boards and Commissions for 2013 at Tuesday's meeting. Mayor Tom Davis will serve on the following boards: California Tahoe Conservancy, City Selection Committee, TahoeChamber.org, Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, and South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Pro Tem Hal Cole will serve on El Dorado County LAFCO, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Abandoned Vehicle Abatement JPA, and South Tahoe Redevelopment Successor Agency boards.

TahoeChamber.org's Cash Mob Monday

Annual Holiday BAHM! for Charity

Join TahoeChamber.org at Riva Grill, 900 Ski Run Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe for an evening of celebration, and help the South Shore community to start off 2013 on the right foot.

On Dec. 13, TahoeChamber held a ribbon cutting and book signing at The Center for Higher Learning for longtime South Shore Lake Tahoe therapist Ray Goodenough.

The Center for Higher Learning offers a variety of modalities and experiences that provide Client Centered Therapy, Personal Growth Workshops, and Seminars. They specialize in Hypnotherapy, Substance Abuse Counseling, Zazen Meditation, Enneagram, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and Continuing Education Credits for Substance Abuse Counselors.

Book signing and ribbon cutting celebrating 'Parallel Journeys'

All are invited to a ribbon cutting and book signing to celebrate the centers years of success and community service, and a newly published book. Ray Goodenough and his daughter Kathy Rem recently co-authored a book entitled “Parallel Journeys.”

After 33 years of separation, the two were reunited and in this book they compare stories and realize what an incredible parallel journey they have undergone.
