STATELINE, Nev. – The Tahoe Knight Monsters, proud ECHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights announced today that forwards Simon Pinard and Jett Jones have been recalled back to Henderson.

Pinard, 23, played three games with the Silver Knights earlier this season and was reassigned back to Tahoe on November 29. In the 10 games with the Knight Monsters, he scored six goals and added nine assists.

He had the third most goals in the ECHL at 14, and also scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Allen Americans on December 3.

A federal grand jury returned a 12-count indictment against Daniel Chartraw, 51, formerly of South Lake Tahoe, charging him with wire fraud, United States Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced. The indictment was unsealed this week after Chartraw’s arrest.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue (SLTFR) and South Tahoe Public Utility District (STPUD) are joining forces for the third annual Adopt-A-Hydrant campaign, which encourages residents to keep the community safe by adopting a fire hydrant this winter.

A cleared hydrant can save firefighters precious minutes in the event of a structure fire. While STPUD and SLTFR clear some priority hydrants on main roads and near critical infrastructure, we need the community's help to ensure the numerous hydrants throughout neighborhoods are accessible after each storm.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Two new school board members and one returning member were sworn in during the Lake Tahoe Unified School District's (LTUSD) organizational meeting on December 13.

Robert Anderson, Ellen Camacho, and Valerie Mansfield each won their seats in the November election. They join newly appointed Board President Lauri Kemper and Clerk of the Board Jon Hetherton. Mansfield, a past board president, was sworn in for her second term.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Barton Health recently earned top designations for its commitment to high-quality maternity care. The three accolades received include the Baby-Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA as well as U.S. News & World Report’s High Performer rating and Maternity Care Access Hospital designation.

Of the 817 hospitals evaluated by U.S. News & World Report, Barton is one of only 75 hospitals to earn both the Maternity Access Hospital designation and a High Performer rating. This places Barton Health in the top ten percent of hospitals for maternity care.
