South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Station is located at 2140 Ruth Ave, South Lake Tahoe.
Clean Tahoe’s mission is to keep El Dorado County clean and beautiful. In partnership with Vail Resort’s Echo charitable giving program, Clean Tahoe Program is opening up the gates of the South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Station to local residents to throw unwanted items away for a very minimal cost.
“Community Cleanup Day plays an important role in preserving our beautiful landscape here at Lake Tahoe,” says Ellen Flynn, Program Manager, Clean Tahoe Program. “We sincerely appreciate the support of local companies, like Heavenly, who share our same values, and who made this day possible through a generous donation from the Vail Resorts Echo charitable giving program.”
This event is a “Thank You” to our community for supporting the Clean Tahoe Program through a small surcharge on their refuse bills. Each resident pays $1.20 every three months to help clean-up the public areas of the South Shore. Lake Tahoe is one of the most unique ecosystems on the planet. Couches, refrigerators, computers, televisions and tires are not only unsightly, but they are harmful to the environment. Community Cleanup Day is the perfect excuse to clean up!
Keep your neighborhood clean by properly disposing of unwanted trash items in your garage, backyard or neighborhood. Participate in Clean Tahoe’s Annual Community Cleanup Day, Saturday, June 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Drop off furniture, tires and appliances to the South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Station for a discounted price of $5 per truckload. The event is also open to Nevada residents, who can dump their junk for $10 a truckload.
*Free secure document shredding and free e-waste disposal is also being offered. Refrigerators are accepted at the reduced price of $15 per refrigerator.
