Iagounov pretended to be a federal law enforcement agent by creating and sending counterfeit investigative documents, which he signed in the name of a fictional federal agent, seeking highly protected information from the Department of Defense.

Four long-time locals started a new feature for South Tahoe Now. The "Happy Hour Hot Shots" will visit local eateries from time to time and report on their Happy Hour experiences in South Lake Tahoe.

Their latest stop was at Jimmy's at The Landing.

On an overall scale of 1-5 Bites, Jimmy's earned a 3.5.

Here is what we enjoyed during our Happy Hour stop and each item's rating:

Mojito "5" - Refreshingly sublime on a hot day with definite tastes of lime and mint.

STATELINE, Nev. – The Tahoe Knight Monsters announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Brennan Kapcheck.

Kapcheck, 27, joins the Knight Monsters after playing the past three seasons with the Newfoundland Growlers (ECHL) where he registered 59 points (7g, 52) in 115 regular season games from 2022-2024. He also added an additional 14 points (1g,13a) in 31 playoff appearances with the Growlers in 2022 & 2023. The 5-9, 179-pound blueliner also made ten appearances last season overseas with HKM Zvolen in Slovakia logging an assist.

LAKE TAHOE, Nev./Cal. - Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s (D-Nev.) legislation to extend the authorization of the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act for 10 years passed the Senate on Wednesday. Cortez Masto’s legislation is cosponsored by Senators Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), and Laphonza Butler (D-Calif.) and it would allow federal funds to continue maintaining the environment, supporting local jobs, and strengthening the tourism economy around Lake Tahoe. July is the best time to harvest blueberries and is the peak season for this fruit, which is why it is the perfect time to celebrate National Blueberry Month in July!

Blueberries have been consumed for a very long time – more than 13,000 years, according to some reports – but the Native Americans were the first to recognize the versatility of this fruit.  They used blueberries for medicinal purposes and as a natural flavoring agent.  However, the wild blueberries used by the Native Americans are much different from the ones we eat now.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Jackson & Whitaker Wealth Management has graciously sponsored the Douglas County Community Services Foundation 2024 Naming Right for the Douglas County Community & Senior Center, located at 1329 Waterloo Ln, Gardnerville, NV 89410. The pair, who aren't in the ACC tournament, will play on the popular par-3 17th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course after the conclusion of Saturday's third round, at approximately 3:30 p.m.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - California Highway Patrol (CHP) of South Lake Tahoe is asking for the public's help in catching a hit-and-run suspect. The Subaru was being driven by a white male adult wearing a tan floppy hat. The Subaru fled the scene without exchanging information with the other driver, a violation of 20002(a) VC.
