While it’s common to joke about wine-drinking culture, relying on alcohol to cope with family demands and work stress is no laughing matter.

INYO COUNTY, Calif. - The Inyo County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding two overdue hikers on Mt. Whitney on Tuesday, May 7 around 8:30 p.m. The hikers intended to descend to the “Notch” with the intention of skiing/snowboarding from the “Notch” back to Upper Boy Scout Lake where they had set up camp. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe Public Utility District (STPUD) will consider raising water and sewer rates at its May 16 board meeting. The public has been invited to public meetings over the past several months, and now they are invited to participate in the final step to raise rates for water and sewer customers. STPUD says $132 million is needed over the next ten years to bring the system up to par.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Multiple agencies responded to a stolen car being driven at a high rate of speed between Meyers and Emerald Bay Road on Wednesday afternoon at around 2 p.m. Officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) had located a vehicle stolen out of Sacramento. The driver failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed through the "Y".
