DAR Daughters serve lunch to veterans at LTCC

Daughters of the American Revolution from Lake Tahoe Chapter, NSDAR, showed their patriotism and community spirit by providing hot lunches during finals week to the veterans who attend Lake Tahoe Community College.

Support for our country's veterans and active military personnel is a basic DAR tenet. DAR Daughters in chapters all across the United States and beyond show this support in many ways, including: 1) volunteering at VA medical facilities, 2) providing special items for patients in these VA medical facilities, 3) sending phone cards to patients at Landstuhl Hospital in Germany, 4) creating care packages for military units serving overseas (particularly for women service personnel), 5) serving as national cemetery volunteers, 6) hosting baby showers for expectant military personnel and military wives, and 7) giving monetary donations and requested supplies to our nation's USO's.

This week's hot lunch program was coordinated by Lake Tahoe Chapter's DAR Service to Veterans Chair Karen Borges, DC, a member of the LTCC Board of Trustees.
