Camp Richardson’s Snowshoe Cocktail Races start on January 17

Can you run in snowshoes? Can you run and carry a tray full of drinks in snowshoes? How about just watching people try?
The start of Camp Richardson’s Snowshoe Cocktail Races, a three-part series, is set for Jan. 17, at 7 p.m.
Racers, cocktail trays in hand, navigate through obstacles, and up and down the beach. The winner is the fastest and cleanest at the finish.
For their efforts, racers can win prizes that range from snowboards and dining certificates to equipment and marina rentals. Prize sponsors include Sierra at Tahoe, Shoreline of Tahoe, Action Watersports-Tahoe Thunder, Round Hill Pines Beach Resort, New Belgium Brewing Company, Tuaca, and Korbel.
Registration is free and there are multiple race categories: novice, amateur and expert. Snowshoes are provided.
The other days for races are Feb. 21 and March 21. The races start at 7 p.m with signups beginning at 5 p.m.
The races take place at the Beacon Bar and Grill located at Camp Richardson Resort, South Lake Tahoe
