Snowshoe cocktail races continue at Camp Richardson

The next in a three-part series of Camp Richardson’s Snowshoe Cocktail Races, is set for Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. Racers, cocktail trays in hand, navigate through obstacles and up and down the beach. The winner is the fastest and driest at the finish. Prizes range from dining certificates and marina rentals. Registration is free in multiple race categories. www.camprichardson.com

Who: Novice, amateur and expert snowshoe racers (Snowshoes are provided.)

What: Snowshoe Cocktail Races.

Where: On the beach at The Beacon Bar and Grill, Camp Richardson Resort, South Lake Tahoe

When: Saturday, Feb. 21, races start at 7 p.m. Signups begin at 5 p.m.
(Last event: March 21)

How: Racers will run, knees up, kicking snow (or sand) with their snowshoes while balancing a tray full of drinks hoping to be the fastest without spilling.

Prize sponsors include Deschutes Brewery, Camp Richardson Resort, Round Hill Pines Beach Resort, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Action Watersports.
