Personnel from the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District conduct training Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, on the new Hilltrac Skier Express at the Ridge Tahoe. The new self-operated, gondola-type car, which will begin operating next week, will transport skiers from the Ridge Tahoe to the Stagecoach Chairlift. The 8-passenger gondola-type transport sits on a track and with the swipe of a room key, will take passengers down the slope side right to the Stagecoach Chairlift at Heavenly Mountain Resort within minutes.
