South Lake Tahoe taking applications for commissioner appointments

The South Lake Tahoe City Council is soliciting applications for the following Commissions: Parks and Recreation, Clean Tahoe, City Lay Member Appointee to the TRPA Advisory Planning, and El Dorado Commission on Aging.

Applications may be obtained at the City Clerk's Office located at 1901 Airport Road, South Lake Tahoe, California, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and are also available on the City of South Lake Tahoe’s website at www.cityofslt.us – City Clerk-Boards and Commissions.

Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk's Office no later than 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. The City Council will be making appointments at their February 19, 2013 regularly scheduled meeting.

PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION:
The City Council will be appointing five (5) members to serve two-year terms on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Parks and Recreation Commission meets at least on a quarterly basis at the City’s Parks and Recreation Center located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, California.

CLEAN TAHOE COMMISSION:
The City Council will be appointing one (1) member to the Clean Tahoe Commission to serve a two-year term. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Clean Tahoe Commission meets monthly, the third Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers located at 1901 Airport Road, South Lake Tahoe, California.

TAHOE REGIONAL PLANNING AGENCY ADVISORY PLANNING COMMISSION:
The City Council will be appointing one (1) member to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Advisory Planning Commission (APC) as the City’s Lay Member appointee to serve a two-year term. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The APC meets monthly, the second Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m., at the TRPA Offices South Shore located at Lower Kingsbury Grade, 128 Market Street, Stateline, Nevada.

EL DORADO COMMISSION ON AGING:
The City Council will be appointing one (1) member to the El Dorado County Commission on Aging. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The El Dorado County Commission on Aging meetings are held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the 3rd Thursday of the month, except July and December. The meetings are held at various locations throughout the County. The June and September meetings are held in South Lake Tahoe.
