UCD lecture at Incline: Political Polarization and Policymaking
Submitted by paula on Thu, 01/26/2017 - 9:00am
Aggravated Divisions: Political Polarization and Policymaking after the 2016 Election with Dr. Christopher Hare from the UC Davis Department of Political Science is the next topic at the Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) lecture in Incline Village on February 2 at 5:30 p.m.
What has 2016 taught us about polarization in American politics? Just how divided are we, and what are the nature of those divides? Political science research indicates that a diverse set of conflicts—differences in issue attitudes, policy priorities, race and ethnicity, core values and beliefs, and culture/lifestyle—continue to overlap on one another. This has produced polarized voting patterns, partisan behaviors, and increasing distrust and dislike of those in rival ideological and partisan camps.
No-host happy hour at 5:30 and public presentation at 6 p.m. at the UC Davis Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences in Incline Village, NV. Register for this event here. Donation is $5.
