Angel of Tahoe turns 90 -Treated to a big birthday party and fireworks

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - Lisa Maloff, the Angel of Tahoe, celebrated a milestone birthday with 160 of her friends at Edgewood Tahoe on Wednesday.

The woman who is responsible for giving away millions of dollars to the South Lake Tahoe community was given something back, a lot of love and appreciation.

Planned by her close friend and caretaker, Ricky Reich, no detail was left undone and her favorite color pink was evident in all of the flowers and decor.

A fireworks show started off the evening that also included a cocktail reception, dancing by the Marcia Sarosik dancers, a fabulous dinner and another 15-minutes fireworks show showed Lisa Maloff how much her close friends and community leaders appreciate her kindness.

Over the past few years, Mrs. Maloff has given away over $40 million to the South Shore, including funds for the $15M Robert Maloff Center for Orthopedics & Wellness at Barton, the $5.8M Lisa Maloff University Center on the campus of Lake Tahoe Community College, $3M to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, $2.5M to Whittell High School for a new football field and track, $100,000 to Tahoe Arts Project, $100,000 to the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center and $100,000 to FEET, and tens of thousands to Tahoe Youth & Family Services, Live Violence Free, $175,000 to the Tahoe Women's Community Fund, Lake Tahoe Historical Society, South Lake Tahoe Police Dept, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, Tahoe Douglas Fire, local schools and numerous other nonprofits in the South Lake Tahoe area. She has also been Mrs. Santa for the past two Christmases in helping spread holiday joy to local youth in need.

Many of the recipients of her generosity joined in the birthday celebration.

We all love you Lisa, Happy Birthday!
