Famous for the line of people leaning over its side, the Fanny Bridge at Lake Tahoe's North Shore is going to be part of a major overhaul set to begin construction in May 2016.
The Tahoe Transportation District is holding a community workshop to get feedback from residents on six proposed plans (as well as a "no build" option) for the "Wye" area where Highways 89 and 28 meet.
Traffic congestion, safety issues and travel conditions are the reasons that the project has been discussed and planned since 1994. Now, the TTD has weeded down the ideas and they want to hear from the public on which idea they should use.
Everything from roundabouts to rebuilding just the 89-year old bridge have been discussed.
Everyone is invited to attend the public workshop on February 26 at anytime between 5 p.m to 7 p.m. at Granlibakken Conference Center & Lodge, 725 Granlibakken Road, Tahoe City, CA 96145.
