Snow Day Monday for South Lake Tahoe students

Due to heavy snowfall this weekend, all schools in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District will be closed on Monday, February 11 to allow the district, city, county, and state snow removal crews time to make roadways safe for students and staff to get to and from school.
Both Douglas County schools at Lake Tahoe, Whittell High and Zephyr Cove Elementary, are closed.
Also closed or have late starts:
Camino Union School District
Pollock Pines Elementary School District
Silver Fork School District
School District delayed starts (EDCOE Extended Day Programs will not open until the school opens):
El Dorado High School District: El Dorado and Union Mine High Schools - 2-hour delayed start
Gold Oak Union School District - 2-hour delayed
Western Nevada College in Carson City will start at 10:00 a.m.
No other schools in the area have a snow day planned at this time. This story will be updated when new information comes in.
