Event Date:
February 15, 2015 - 12:00pm
Jumping into the lake in the dead of winter is normally a very chilly task but this year's participants in the Third Annual Tahoe Keys Association Polar Bear Plunge will have sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60's.
Spectators and participants will be at the Tahoe Keys Pavilion on Sunday, February 15. Sign-ups will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the plunge starts at high noon.
A cash donation of $25 is requested from each swimmer that will go to help Christmas Cheer. Those who don’t feel like braving the cold water can bring a donation of a nonperishable food item to the event to be a spectator.
There will be warm drinks and appetizers served to those taking the plunge as well as those watching from the pier.
There will be prizes offered for the best costumes and for categories such as the “first head under water.” The South Lake Tahoe Fire Department will signal the start of the plunge with their siren.
Those wanting to participate, or if you have questions, contact Community Ink, Inc. at (530) 582-9012 or visit www.CommunityInk.com to download a sign up form.
