Lake Tahoe Community College was informed Wednesday by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges that the college has addressed the visiting team recommendations from October 2012 in the accreditation Follow-Up Report.
The ACCJC required LTCC resolve five recommendations following the last college self-study, which was completed in October of 2011.
“I’m ecstatic, “said Kindred Murillo, Superintendent and President of Lake Tahoe Community College. “Now that all of the recommendations have been addressed, we can return to a normal evaluation cycle and focus our resources on serving students and our community.”
Accreditation comprehensive visits are required every six years, and each of the 112 California community colleges must also address any recommendations from these visits within two years. Colleges are also required to complete a mid-term report, which will be due to the ACCJC in October 2014
“This is wonderful news,” said Tom Green, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services for LTCC who served as the Accreditation Liaison Officer for the college. “ACJC has affirmed the hard work and achievements made by so many dedicated people who work hard day in and day out to achieve the mission of our college.”
