SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Heavy snow on top of the Powder House building in South Lake Tahoe led to a partial roof collapse on Friday morning.
South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue responded to the business at the corner of Lake Tahoe Boulevard and La Salle Avenue and found the main load-bearing beams of the building had failed. The structural damage is on the second floor and there was no apparent damage to the first floor.
The building was evacuated and red-tagged by the building department until repairs can be made. Also in the same building is Maya Grill which has also had to close.
No other details are available at this time.
