Minden man identified as Monday's plane crash victim

A Minden, Nevada man has been identified as the pilot of the Piper PA-34 Seneca that crashed into a Douglas County field on Monday, February 19, 2018.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) has identified the deceased pilot as 64-year-old Stephen Filice.
At about 11:30 a.m. Monday, DCSO deputies and East Fork Fire Protection District crews responded to a report of a plane crash in northern Douglas County in the vicinity of Hobo Springs Road, west of Highway 395 and south of Plymouth Drive.
They located the wreckage of the plane at about 12:20 p.m.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) arrived to the scene at 2:30 p.m. on February 19 to begin the investigation as to why the plane crashed.
