Message from Heavenly: NWS - NWS Forecast - Snow. High near 23. Very windy, with a southwest wind 40 to 45 mph, with gusts as high as 65 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Winds are expected to persist and increase throughout the day and will likely impact our lifts. Message from Sierra: Miracle March in da house!! Sierra received an incredible 18 inches of powder overnight, bringing our two day storm total to 25 inches and counting! It is currently 23 degrees and snowing here at the base of the mountain. We're getting the powdah party started at 8:30 am this morning with 12 lifts + tows spinning, escorting you to all 46 open trails, 31 cords, and 6 parks. If you're heading up today, come prepared with your goretex/waterproof gear and low light lenses! Highways 50, 88, and 89 are all on chain control. Don't let your day on the mountain end before you arrive! Carry chains, drive safely, and give the cars around you plenty of room--we're getting free refills all day so what's the rush?
