Men wanted in connection to El Dorado County homicide captured in Carson City

3/15/18 UPDATE: Two men arrested early Wednesday at a Carson City home have been identified and now face murder charges in El Dorado County, Calif.

Chase Bomar, 19, and Cody Bomar, 21, were taken into custody after Carson City Sheriff’s Office SWAT responded to assist El Dorado County authorities at a home in the 1200 block of Palo Verde Drive.

The men were wanted in connection to the fatal stabbing of Jeremy Fortuin, 42, of Pollock Pines. The stabbing happened on Pony Express Trail in Cedar Grove on the west slope of El Dorado County.

Fortuin was found Tuesday with multiple stab wounds. He was treated at the scene and later died. Witness interviews provided authorities information into the altercation. The statements collected led to arrest warrants and information the two fled to Carson City, according to El Dorado County sheriff's authorities.

With the assistance of Carson City Sheriff’s Office SWAT, EDSO detectives were able to locate and arrest the men on murder charges.

Two men sought for questioning in connection to a homicide Tuesday in El Dorado County, Calif., were taken into custody early Wednesday morning with the assistance of Carson City Sheriff’s Office SWAT.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received information the men were in Carson City and at a home in the 1200 block of Palo Verde Drive. A search warrant was granted and at around 6 a.m. the Carson City Sheriff’s Office SWAT was deployed to secure the residence in order for El Dorado County sheriff's investigators to enter the home.

Four people were detained, two adult men and two women. The two men were the ones sought for questioning as persons of interest by west slope investigators with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, according to an EDCSO investigator on scene. Both men had fugitive from justice warrants

The home was secured by SWAT members allowing safe entrance, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Capt. Jeff Melvin. One SWAT member suffered a minor ankle injury. No other injuries were reported.

According to an El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, investigators responded to a stabbing in the Cedar Grove area Tuesday afternoon in which three were involved in the altercation that resulted in the fatal stabbing of a man.
