More closures announced in South Lake Tahoe due to coronavirus concerns

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There is a rapidly changing response to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, with businesses, nonprofits, and agencies having to change procedures and policies often.

At this time, the following closures or change to business practices have been announced:

Lake Tahoe Visitor's Authority has closed both of their locations but the staff is available by phone at (775) 588-4591 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday-Saturday. For Healthy Travel Information visit tahoesouth.com/healthy-travel-information. They have also suspended all advertising campaigns. From a community responsibility perspective, they said they did not want to promote travel when ​the risk is considered high.

Lake Tahoe Community College is limiting operations in its Child Development Center this week and closing at the end of the day on Friday, March 20. They plan to be closed until April 6.

South Tahoe Public Utility District is closing its Administrative Office and Lab to the public starting Tuesday, March 17. Their statement - To protect the health of employees and maintain safe and reliable water and sewer service, South Tahoe Public Utility District is closing the Administrative Office and Laboratory to the public beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020. District staff will be working and available to assist customers by phone (530) 544-6474 or by email at cs@stpud.us. Customers can still drop off checks or cash in the Drop-Box located on-site, drop off water samples in the cooler located outside of the Laboratory Building, and/or email building plans for review to residentialplans@stpud.us. South Tahoe Public Utility District has also suspended service disconnections for non-payment due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 health emergency. This ensures the community of South Lake Tahoe has access to safe, clean, and reliable water and wastewater services during this challenging time.

The Young Dubliners have decided to postpone the show presently scheduled for tomorrow, March 17, 2020, at MontBleu. Tickets for the March 17 date will be honored on the new date once determined. Ticket holders will be notified of the new date and given instructions on obtaining a refund if they are unable to attend.
