During Tuesday's City Council meeting, the upcoming commercial marijuana ordinance was slatted to be discussed, but Council voted to hold off since the normal agenda materials were not provided prior to the meeting to the public nor the Council.
On Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 4:00 p.m., the community is invited to participate in a special SLT Council meeting as the final touches are put on an cannabis ordinance that will control where sales can take place, what types of licenses can be issued, how products will be packaged and distributed among other points.
The subcommittee, which had City Councilmember Brooke Laine and Mayor Pro Tem Tom Davis on it along with community members selected from all points of view on the matter. The recommendations made come from the whole group, and not the Council representatives.
Here is the worksheet the Council will be working off as the meeting progresses.
Also on the agenda is discussion regarding a State of California Temporary Commercial Marijuana License for Tahoe Wellness Collective (TWC). There has been a lot of audience discussion on this subject during public comment section on the Council's previous agendas but this will be the first time Council can discuss. There are no agenda materials on this item yet, but it is promised to be posted by Monday, March 26 at noon.
