Snowy Sunday night and Monday in Lake Tahoe

A quick weather system is passing over Lake Tahoe Sunday afternoon, with up to three inches of snow possible at lake level by the time it leaves Monday afternoon.

There will be a two-day long period of sunny skies and temps into the 50s before another quick moving Spring storm comes to Lake Tahoe later in the week. The forecast for the weekend is a sunny and dry one.

This Afternoon - A chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. Southwest wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tonight - Rain and snow likely before 11pm, then snow. Low around 26. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Monday - A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Monday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 23. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 50. Northeast wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 23.

Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 57.

Wednesday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Thursday - A chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44.
