Celebration of life to honor Sgt. Timothy M. Smith will be Sunday at Sierra-at-Tahoe

The 5th Memorial Celebration in Honor of Sgt. Timothy M. Smith will be on Sunday, April 7, at Sierra-at-Tahoe.
The Celebration of Life begins at 11 a.m. A pot luck and balloon launch will be held at the home of Patty Smith, Gold Star mother of Sgt. Smith, 848 Placer Ave., South Lake Tahoe. Go here for the Facebook event page.
Sgt. Smith of South Lake Tahoe, assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), located at Fort Polk, La.; died April 7, 2008 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He was 25.
If you are coming up to Sierra-at-Tahoe and want to ski or board or be a foot traveler (go up and down on lift) organizer Patty Smith will need a head count as soon as possible. Ski and snowboard tickets are discounted. Those with season passes, as well as the general public are invited to attend and honor Sgt. Smith. Foot travelers can traverse for free with a limited amount of tickets.
Meet at 11 a.m. in the Aspen Room, upstairs. Discount tickets can be bought at the ticket booth. Tell the ticket taker that you are attending the Sgt. Smith Celebration of Life ceremony. Tickets should be purchased by 11:30 a.m.
