The 4th annual Memorial Celebration in Honor of Sgt. Timothy Smith will be on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Sierra-at-Tahoe. This year the memorial gathering will also benefit Operation Rebound. Celebration of Life pot luck after skiing at the American Legion Post 795 beginning at 4 pm. Music by the Cash Only Band.
Sgt. Smith, 25, of South Lake Tahoe, assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), located at Fort Polk, La.; died April 7 2008 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.
If you are coming up to Sierra-at-Tahoe and want to ski or board or be a foot traveler (go up and down on lift) I need a head count as soon as possible. If you are a veteran you can ski or board for free as Jim Cahill is also doing his event for Operation Rebound. Organizers hope to bring up some disabled veterans and any veteran's who want to ski or board.
