SITS throwing the party of the year: 2018 Elegant Evening

The community is invited to join the Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra (SITS) club for an evening of live music, great food, drinks and friends at the 29th annual Elegant Evening will be held at Harrah's Tahoe on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

The evening's festivities start with a 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. cocktail party and social time, moving to a seated dinner from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and dancing all night with Trey Stone until 10:30 p.m.

Guests will enjoy selective tastings from Crystal Basin Cellars, Tahoe Blue Vodka, Lake Tahoe AleWorx and Double Bond Wine.

The SITS famous silent auction with unique items and art, their signature “Elegant Business Baskets” and “Elegant Bags."

100% of fund raised during go back to the community as it does every year.

The business community continues to be incredibly generous with donations to the event, and together helps SITS raise funds to assist the local youth and families of the Lake Tahoe community.

The mission of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra is to enhance and participate with actions and funds in projects both locally and globally. A few examples are:

- Project Middle School: provides support throughout the academic year, giving youth the skills needed to become productive adults including; anti-bullying assemblies, Kid's Day, and the Junior "S" Club for girls.

-Summer Book Program: books are given at the end of each school year to all K-8 students at the lake in both California and Nevada to encourage reading during the summer break.

-Scholarships: awarded to high school and college students.

-Ongoing support for the Young Parents Program, The Drug Store Project, Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Live Violence Free’s Girls Empowerment Project, National Alliance of Mentally Ill (NAMI), BATS (Bringing Art to Schools), The Kellermann Foundation, Tahoe Turning Point and Tahoe Youth and Family Services.

With the on-going generosity of the South Shore community, the ability to carry out projects is strengthened considerably. Elegant Evening is not only the club’s major event of the year, but is also one of the premier fundraising and social events of the year and normally sells out.

Tickets are $75 each or tables of ten for $750,

Businesses can take part in the event by purchasing a table of ten seats for Elegant Evening or donating a silent auction item…..both ways to promote your business while helping the community (and tax deductible!). All donations are listed on both the event’s website and auction website, and sponsors are acknowledged during the event as well.

Club members are always available to deliver tickets or pick up silent auction donations.
