New COVID-19 cases for all counties surrounding Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There has been one more person who tested positive for COVID-19 in the South Lake Tahoe area over the weekend, bringing the total to 10. In El Dorado County there are now 25 positive cases.

El Dorado Hills - 7
Placerville - 3

Shingle Springs, Rescue, Cameron Park - 3
North County - 2

The South Lake Tahoe region includes Meyers, South Lake Tahoe, to north of Meeks Bay.

Of the 849 tests, 683 have come back as negative.

Alpine County

One more person has tested positive for COVID-19 in Alpine County, but they do not reside there. This brings the number of positive cases to two. Health Officer Dr. Richard Johnson said the test was performed at the Alpine County Health Department Clinic but many of their residents seek medical care outside of the county, and some come to the county.

The appropriate Health Departments have conducted case and contact investigations, and all necessary measures have been taken to prevent the spread of infection into the community, Dr. Johnson said. Measures include quarantine of individuals without symptoms who were exposed to the infected person during the time they were
contagious, and isolation of exposed persons who have symptoms compatible with COVID-19 infection.

Quad Counties (Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Storey)

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Monday of one new positive case of COVID-19 in the Quad County region: Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey counties. This brings the number of active cases in the Quad-County region to 19 with two recoveries.

Carson City - 11
Douglas County - 7
Lyon County - 3
Storey County - 0

There have been no deaths in the Quad County area.

The new case is a female Carson City resident in her 20’s. She is self-isolating at home and is in stable condition.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the case will be released.

Washoe County

Since Friday, April 3, there have been 52 newly diagnosed cases of COVID-19 with four more recoveries. No additional deaths have been reported.

Hospitalizations: 21

Placer County

There are 106 cases of COVID-19 in Placer County with three deaths. 31 people are in the hospital with a confirmed diagnosis (10 in ICU) and 6 with suspected COVID-19.

Confirmed cases are in the following communities: Alta, Applegate, Auburn, Carnelian Bay, Elverta, Foresthill, Granite Bay, Kings Beach, Lincoln, Loomis, Meadow Vista, Newcastle, Olympic Valley, Penryn, Rocklin, Roseville, Sheridan, Tahoe City, Truckee.
