Ann Lee-Barthel to speak at LTCC: "How to grow a replacement body part"

The LTCC Foundation's Speaker Spotlight Series continues on Wednesday, April 29 at 6 p.m. in the Board/Aspen Room on campus. Ann Lee-Barthel, a biomedical engineering PhD student at UC Davis will present "Tissue Engineering: How to Grow a Replacement Body Part."
Ann will describe her work in growing ligaments in the lab for use in surgical repairs.
Ann hails from Minnesota where she received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Minnesota. During this time she worked in two labs and in the process discovered her passion for scientific research. She moved west to pursue her passion for tissue engineering and is attending UC Davis as a 5th year PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Ann will talk about her work in growing ligaments in the lab for future use in surgical repair & studying physiology.
