Letter: Tahoe Youth & Family Services participating in Giving Tuesday after major fundraiser canceled
Submitted by paula on Mon, 05/04/2020 - 2:32pm
Tahoe Youth & Family Services 3rd annual 5K Run, Jog, Walk during Carson Valley Days scheduled for Saturday June 13, 2020 has been canceled and will be rescheduled at a time and with a route to be determined.
This event is the heart of this 2020 nonprofit organization’s FAMILY ORIENTED fundraising activity in Douglas County. Funds supporting our mental health and substance abuse counseling come from our valued business sponsors and, of course, our dedicated participants. In this time of economic uncertainty, we cannot ask our businesses to sponsor an event not knowing possible “new normal” individual social distancing or economic vitality of businesses and their employees.
Tahoe Youth & Family Services has kept our counseling services, staffing, and services to clients available through telehealth one on one counseling, telephone referral services, and our live Facebook series starring our counselors to answer your questions. Tahoe Youth & Family Services has followed California and Nevada Governor’s COVID 19 orders to keep residents in both states healthy and safe. We too are suffering economically. There are numerous worthy organizations needing your support right now.
Please keep Tahoe Youth & Family serving Douglas County and South Lake Tahoe youth and families on your donation list. Think of us on Giving Tuesday May 5 - https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/ODMxODg=.
