SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Summer-like weather around Lake Tahoe is gone for now. There is a Lake Wind Advisory in place for Lake Tahoe from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday. Stronger winds will be north of US50 and east of US395. The winds will bring a cooling trend as a low-pressure system reaches the northwest U.S. coast. From Tuesday through Thursday, below-average temperatures are expected with breezy winds and chances for rain and high elevation snow showers mainly near the Sierra and north of Interstate 80.
Temperatures for most of next week are forecast to be on the chilly side with highs in the low to mid-60s for western Nevada and 50s in the Sierra, roughly 5-10 degrees below average for this time of year. The coldest temperatures of the week look likely for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings with lows in the low
30s for the Sierra and 30s/low 40s for western Nevada with possible freeze spots in rural areas.
The active weather pattern looks like it will be continuing into the weekend and next week with additional light precipitation, breezy winds, and below-average temperatures for much of the west coast according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Reno.
