Wind, rain and snow in the forecast for South Lake Tahoe

May in South Lake Tahoe is always unpredictable, with the only thing weather watches can count on is change. This weekend is no different.

The National Weather Service forecast for the area calls for winds, rain, a trace of snow for the next seven days.

Friday - Scattered rain and snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Breezy, with a southwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday night - Scattered rain showers before midnight, then a slight chance of snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday - A slight chance of snow showers before noon, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday Night - A chance of rain and snow showers before midnight. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Sunday - A slight chance of rain and snow showers before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday - A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 53.
