Visit South Lake Tahoe recreation center and museum during community event

Event Date:
June 6, 2015 - 10:00am

The City of South Lake Tahoe celebrates their 50th anniversary this year, and as part of their year long party they are holding events throughout town.

This weekend, join them at both the Parks and Recreation Department and the Lake Tahoe Historical Museum on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Learn what is offered at the Rec Center this summer. This is the perfect time to sign up for the popular South Tahoe Adventure Recreation (STAR) Summer camp, enroll in swim lessons, enjoy refreshments and more! The Recreation and Swim Complex is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

Over at the museum there will be guided tours as well as docents prepared to answer your historical questions. Kids can play their popular history game as they tour the museum. The video room has a large assortment of Lake Tahoe movies to enjoy as well. There will be refreshments. Normally the museum doesn't open until 11 a.m. but they will be opening early to help others celebrate the city's 50th. The museum is located at 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
