Spring into Summer event to highlight recreation services in South Lake Tahoe

Summer programs offered by the City of South Lake Tahoe Parks & Recreation Department will be the focus of a kick-off party on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Recreation & Swim Complex.

They are gearing up for another summer season full of adventure, learning, fun and great memories. The event is free and designed to highlight summer programs, introduce recreation instructors and provide tours of the complex in a fun and festive environment.

South Tahoe Adventure Recreation (STAR) Camp leaders will be on hand to meet prospective campers and parents as well as provide details about the many adventures campers will experience this summer such as hiking, biking, introduction to bike park riding, ice skating, archery, arts and crafts, fun with science, field trips and more. STAR camp provides an active, healthy and safe environment for youth ages K-5th grade to learn and play and each themed week features an authentic Tahoe adventure.

Water Safety instructors will also be there to provide information on Learn to Swim classes for all ages and abilities.

There will also be Pickle Ball demonstrations provided by the Pickle Ball Club.

Choices for Children will be on hand to provide information on child care services available and funding for STAR Campers who qualify.
