Event Date:
June 14, 2018 - 5:30pm
"Time Travel: Revisiting Lake Tahoe," a visual presentation of historical photographs of Lake Tahoe with Dr. Peter Goin is the next UC Davis TERC (Tahoe Environmental Research Center) event in Incline Village.
Goin, , Foundation Professor of Art at the University of Nevada, Reno, has been working on the project for 25 years and he is presenting photos from the 19th century through the mid-twentieth century, with the photographer's comparative view of the same location.
Travel through time, blending history from the black and white past to the colorful present. Time, photography, and landscape change in remarkable ways. Goin's project is nearly complete with many historical images never before exhibited or published that were compiled with the support of a team of research assistants from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Registration for this event is required. The program will begin at 6 p.m. with refreshments and no-host bar from 5:30 - 6 p.m. at 291 Country Club Drive in Incline Village (between Tahoe Boulevard/SR 28 and Lakeshore Blvd.) on the campus of Sierra Nevada College. A $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door.
