Olympic Gold Medalist Jamie Anderson from South Lake Tahoe has been nominated for two more ESPY awards in a year dominated by snowboarders, at least in the Olympic and action sport categories. She is up against fellow Olympian Chloe Kim for Best Female Action Sports Athlete, an award Anderson won in 2012, 2014 and 2016, and nominated for in 2007.
Anderson is also nominated for Best U.S. Female Olympian, an award she previously won in 2014. She is up against Kim for this award as well.
ESPY stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly.
Best Male Olympian is a four-way race with Americas White, fellow snowboarding gold medalist Red Gerard, two-time gold medalist freestyle skier David Wise from Reno, and curling team skip John Shuster.
Wise is also nominated again for Best Male Action Sports Athlete.
