Learn to flyfish, take great photos of Lake Tahoe, do Paddle Yoga. Enjoy historical tours of Al Tahoe and the West Shore. Bike the Flume Trail, patrol storm drains by electric bike, kayak the same route as Mark Twain, birdwatch, kayak and more during the annual Geo Tourism Expo being held at Lake Tahoe August 30 and 31.
Over Labor Day weekend there will be 20 different GeoTracks for people to choose from. GeoTracks = Fun, Meaningful, Low-Carbon Activities That Connect You To the 8 Worlds of Tahoe.
The 8 worlds of Tahoe are: Art & Architecture, Historical, Active/Adventure, Outdoors/Nature, Nightlife, Food & Drink, Fashion/Design, Sustainability, Cultural/Religious. Each track is led by a local expert and costs anywhere from free to $180.
New this year is the participation of the Washoe tribe. Washoe Laka'lelup will be held on Saturday the 30th at Sand Harbor and will feature Washoe culture and performances that "will deepen your relationship with the treasure we call Tahoe," according to Sustainable Tahoe, the sponsor of the event.
