Longest running Lake Tahoe Halloween party, the Freakers Ball, returns

Event Date:
October 28, 2017 - 8:00pm

For almost four decades, Halloween in South Lake Tahoe has been a party like no other with the annual Freakers Ball bringing people in from all over to demonstrate their creative talents in costume creations.

Local Brian Williams started the tradition inside the Tahoe Palace, a Chinese restaurant which was located next to Raley's at Stateline at the time. He named the event after the 1972 Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show song, "Freaker's Ball." The location changed from there, to the old Super 8 (Knight's Inn), Edgewood Tahoe, the former nightclub Turtles, then to Caesars Tahoe.

The tradition now continues as the 39th annual Freakers Ball is scheduled for Saturday, October 28 at MontBleu Casino Resort on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe.
