New bleachers at South Tahoe High ready for home opener, almost

The new half-million dollar bleachers at South Tahoe High should be ready for Friday night's home opener between the South Tahoe Vikings and the El Dorado Cougars.
While the press box is in, and the seats are ready, the perimeter of the stands was fenced off on Thursday afternoon. School officials on site at the time said "all should be ready to go by game time."
Summer rainstorms and state regulations for school bleachers held up the process which began right after June, 2015's graduation ceremony.
The new "press box" will have no space for media. The three rooms will be occupied by the home team coaching staff, the visiting team coaching staff and event announcers and scorekeepers.
First year coach Louis Franklin will lead his team of 19 seniors, 18 juniors and 1 sophomore onto the field for a 7:30 p.m. game.
The J.V. team will travel to Placerville for a Saturday night game against El Dorado at 7 p.m.
The Fallon Greenwave will start of Friday's football action with a 5 p.m. game at South Tahoe against Tokay High out of Lodi, CA which is the team STHS Coach Franklin previously coached.
