Save the Date: Modern Family Supporting Local Families fundraiser

The cast of Modern Family, the hit ABC sitcom, recently spent several days around South Lake Tahoe filming their Season 9 opener which will be aired on Wednesday, September 27. The episode takes place on a houseboat in Lake Tahoe and they've incorporated eclipse mania into the storyline.

There will be a special South Lake Tahoe premier of this show at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Tahoe Women's Community Fund has put together a special party for the community, all to raise funds for local families.

Jessie Tyler Fergeson, who plays Mitchell Pritchett in the show, recently told elitedaily.com:

The whole episode we just shot on Lake Tahoe. There is a moment where we all sit around singing ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart' on the roof of this houseboat. It's those rare moments where we all get to hang out; it's rare enough that we get to do a scene as a full cast, but then to be all together on Lake Tahoe doing that scene was a really special moment.

The cast and crew enjoyed several South Shore restaurants and activities, including Trapped in Tahoe, during their stay.

The cost of the Lake Tahoe premier will be $20 per person. All proceeds will go to the Tahoe Women's Community Fund for use in the local community. Movie snacks and raffle tickets will be available for purchase as well as a no-host bar.
