Lake Tahoe Community College annual address and convocation held virtually Thursday

Join Lake Tahoe Community College President Jeff DeFranco will be giving his annual State of the College Address (SOCS) on Thursday September 10 starting at 9:00 a.m. Learn more about the college's year of accomplishments and goals for 2020-21, including a focus on equity and a commitment to serving the entire Tahoe community in uncertain times.

The theme of the address is "We are better together."

Watching the SOCA is the best place to get answers if you’ve been interested to know the instructional plan for Winter and Spring quarters, when employees can expect to complete remote work, and any other key decisions for the 2020-21 academic year.

Following DeFranco's address will be a short break, then starting at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Vijay Pendakur, the Convocation guest speaker, will begin. Dr. Pendakur is a leader in student success and equity strategies, with an emphasis on serving marginalized and vulnerable student populations. This presentation will provide tangible ideas and recommendations for creating a more just and equitable college campus.
