Stateline casinos see 25 percent revenue increase in July

Good news for South Shore Lake Tahoe casinos to report this morning. Stateline gaming establishments saw a 25.42 percent increase in revenue over July 2010 figures, according to figures released today from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Statewide casinos had an overall 3.66 percent increase in "gaming win" for the month.

Stateline casinos took in a win of $29, 808,523 in July, as compared to 23,798,600 in July 2010, the board reports. A likely draw to casinos was the 22nd annual American Century Championship held July 12-17 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.

Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $860,089,795 for the month July, amounting to the 3.66 percent increase over July 2010, when licensees reported a gaming win of $829,682,912.

Meanwhile, casinos in North Lake Tahoe in Washoe County reported a 10.5 percent decrease in July, taking in a win of $3.399,945 this July compared to $3,798,600 over July 2010.

Carson Valley casinos, which include Carson City, Minden, Garderville had a 2.6 percent decline in July. Casinos took in a win of $8,699,046. In July 2010 it was $8,900,097.

Nevada collected $48,078,178 in percentage fees during the month of August 2011, based upon the taxable revenues generated in July 2011. This represents a 3.56 percent decrease (or $1,775,364) compared to the prior year’s August, when percentage fee collections were $49,853,542.
