Dusting of snow at higher elevations

During a temporary halt to summer, snow fell on the upper elevations of the Sierra Nevada overnight. At Kirkwood, their Cornice Chair camera picked up the first sight of snow in months.
The base of Kirkwood is at 7800 ft, and the summit sits at 9800 ft and a dusting of snow could be seen Tuesday morning around the resort.
But, the wet and cold front is out of the Lake Tahoe Basin quickly and summer sets back in. The first day of Fall is September 22.
Here is the forecase from the National Weather Service:
Today - Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Tonight - Isolated showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 31. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.
Wednesday Night - Clear, with a low around 34. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming east in the evening.
Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 73. East wind around 5 mph.
Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 35.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 75.
Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 36.
Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 78.
Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 38.
Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 79.
Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 39.
Monday - Sunny, with a high near 78.
