Cakes by the Lake will be creating delectable cupcakes in October to help Hard Rock Lake Tahoe raise money for Susan G. Komen Northern Nevada.
People can choose from pink lemonade cupcakes with pastel pink lemon cream cheese icing, pink colored vanilla cupcakes with pastel pink butter cream, orange cupcakes with pink orange zest cream cheese, almond cupcakes with pink amaretto whip topping and spice cupcakes with pink plain cream cheese, all topped with pink heart shaped or pink breast cancer ribbon sprinkles.
They will be available for purchase at Fuel, the property’s grab and go quick service eatery, during the month of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 50 percent of all sales will to funding support and education programs Komen offers in 11 counties in Northern Nevada.
“We were pleased to be able to partner with another South Lake Tahoe business to help a very worthy cause,” said Chris Fiumara, vice president and general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe.
The awareness month is marked in countries around the world each October, helping to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment of the disease.
