SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There will be a candidate's forum co-hosted by the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Tahoe Community College Student Senate on October 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the school's Student Lounge/Creekside Room.
The stump speech style forum will feature candidates for South Lake Tahoe City Council and El Dorado County Supervisor. Each candidate gets a two-minute stump speech. Then the candidates break out to talk to a table for a few minutes. When time is up the candidates move to a new table. While at each spot a monitor will keep the questions moving and have questions from those sitting at the table.
In theory, this gives each candidate will be able to talk to each person in the audience personally. The Chamber hosted this same style forum during the last election and participants found it very information.
There are other forums held before the November 6 election including September 27 (hosted by South Lake Tahoe Democrats Club), October 4 (hosted by the Tahoe Chamber) and October 25 (hosted by South Lake Tahoe Police Officers and Firefighters Associations and the California Nurses Association).
