Expect temporary closures on Powerline Trail on Wednesday, November 7 as crews from Liberty Utilities work on broken equipment on a power line near the South Lake Tahoe trail popular with hikers and bikers.
The power line they will be working on crosses the Powerline Trail in a number of locations.
Their work may result in temporary closures on the trail between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Trail monitors will be on site to users to an alternate route in the work area and ensure trail access remains available.
The work is required to replace two broken cross arms and a wire that is fraying in an ongoing effort by Liberty Utilities to maintain and improve reliability of service. No power interruptions are expected to occur as a result of these upgrades.
