LTCC Coyotes host the first round of playoffs in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) women's soccer team will be hosting the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) NorCal playoffs on Saturday, November 23.

The LTCC Coyotes ended the regular season as the #1 Junior College Division III team in the country with their record of 18-0-2, a spot they held for weeks. This has been the second consecutive year they went undefeated and haven't lost a game since September 2017.

On Saturday they will be hosting the winner of the West Hills-West Valley game being held Nov. 21.

Saturday's festivities start off with a "Sophomore Celebration" at 1:30 p.m.on the home turf adjacent to the Physical Education building. The game then starts at 2:00 p.m.

The entrance fee is $8 for LTCC students, staff, faculty, and all senior citizens. All others are $12. Proceeds cover referee costs for the game.

This is the first time in the LTCC soccer program history where the women are seeded No. 1 in the playoffs. The team is ranked top in the whole state by the California Community College Athletic Association statewide poll, another first for the Coyotes.

The women completed the regular season by winning the Golden Valley Conference for the third year in a row. In those three years, they outscored all other conference teams by 216-4 with a 32-0 record.

The winner of Saturday's playoff game will play on Nov. 26 in the second round, with the third round played on Nov. 30.

State Championships will be played on December 6 and 9 at De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif.
